Public universities require a score of at least 1050 out of 1600 on the SAT I exam and a score of 1100 out of 1600 on the SAT II exams. The SAT score counts for 60 percent of the students’ final grade, while their in-school transcript grades count as 40 percent. Depending on the percentage the student receives they can be admitted to different universities decided by the Tanseek Office. 1
Private universities require a score of at least 800 out of 1600 on the SAT I exam and a score of 900 out of 1600 on the SAT II exams.2
Depending on the college they want to join within the university, students must be tested in specific subjects for the SAT II. The subjects are clarified to the student during the advising session.
Transcript and Diploma Stamping Procedures
Once Grade 12 has ended, transcripts with the student grades are prepared to be sent to the AdvancEd office in Cairo. Upon reviewing the documents they receive them and ship them to the United States where they are stamped by the head office in Washington, D.C and by the Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau in Washington, D.C. Once they are sent back, the school contacts the parent’s to come collect the documents.
